UWL Theatre remounts the Elvis-fueled Broadway musical to raise scholarship funds
The
Department of Theatre Arts will present an encore performance of All Shook Up to raise funds for theatre student scholarships. The hip-swiveling musical will have you jumping out of your blue suede shoes with such classics as “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Jailhouse Rock” and “Can’t Help Falling in Love.”

Featuring the songs of Elvis Presley, All Shook Up will be performed at
7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, and a matinee performance at
2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, in Toland Theatre, Center for the Arts, 16th and Vine streets.
All Shook Up follows a young mechanic named Natalie who is desperate for an escape from her 1950’s small town. That is until a mysterious leather-jacketed, guitar-playing roustabout named Chad arrives and immediately wins her over. However, when Chad fails to notice her, Natalie disguises herself as “Ed” in order to spend more time with Chad and hopefully make him fall in love with her true self. Soon the dreary lives of the town’s citizens are shaken up by countless love triangles and mistaken identities as they discover the magic of romance and the power of rock & roll.
