UW-L Alumni Association logoThe Alumni Association is joining with a company popular among UW-L graduates during an upcoming symposium. Epic, in Verona, Wis., will host the Midwest Instruction and Computing Symposium April 24-25. UW-L faculty, staff and students will present papers and learn best practices from their colleagues throughout the Midwest. It’s the first time the symposium will be held at an employer instead of at a university. “Computer Science Department staff contacted the Association to see if we’d be interested in partnering with them to host an alumni event in conjunction with the conference,” explains Janie Spencer, Alumni Association executive director. “In addition to the faculty, staff and students who will be attending, more than 40 UW-L alumni work at Epic. We are excited about this new program opportunity.” The Alumni Association is looking for new corporate venues to host similar events. If you have alumni working in your business and are interested, contact Spencer at jspencer@uwlax.edu.
