UW-L club donates blankets
The students in UW-L’s Radiation Therapy Club made fleece blankets again this year for cancer patients at Gundersen Lutheran. They were delivered in early December. They raised money by having a Yankee Candle Fundraiser to buy the fleece. 5th Annual Aging and Film: Stories from a Splendid Age
January is a great month for this annual program — a fireplace, hot soup, cozy chairs and our aging journeys illuminated through film. Come for an evening of insights, reflections and good energy. Esten inducted into Cross Country Coach Hall of Fame
Former UW-La Crosse head men's cross country coach Phil Esten was enshrined in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Hall of Fame Dec. 14 at the USTFCCCA Convention. Esten served as head coach of the men's cross country program at UW-L for 28 years – a run that lasted from 1970 until his retiring after the 1997 season. Esten, the USTFCCCA NCAA Division III Co-Coach of the Year in 1996, led UW-L to a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III cross country national title in the same year.
