UW-L Chancellor Joe Gow will lead a campus-wide “Finals Scream” at noon Monday, May 13, at Hoeschler Tower.
‘3D Days at Murphy Library’ will introduce new director
Librarians have a reputation for telling people to be quiet. But during UW-L’s first day of final exams, they’ll be encouraging students to scream.
It’s all part of the second annual “Finals Scream” where students, faculty and staff can get a little relief from the stress of finals. The therapeutic, campus wide “Finals Scream” takes place at noon Monday, May 13, at Hoeschler Tower. UW-L Chancellor Joe Gow will lead the scream that is expected to last about a minute.
Following the scream — and for each of the first three days of finals — the library will be offering a “finals relief” program titled “3D Days at Murphy Library.”
“3D” stands for donuts, dogs and director. Participants can grab a doughnut hole, a therapy dog, and meet the new library director, Catherine Lavallee-Welch, who began May 1.
“3D Days at Murphy Library” runs from 1–3 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, May 13, 14 and 15, on the first floor of Murphy Library.
Both events are free.
