Small Business Development Center recognizes area success
The Wisconsin Small Business Development Center at UW-La Crosse will celebrate small businesses that started in the Coulee Region during its second annual Celebrate Small Business.
The event begins with breakfast at 7 a.m. Friday, May 3, in The Bluffs, Student Union. The program begins at 7:20 and will end by 9 a.m. Registration is $25. Pre-registration is required by Tuesday, April 30; seating is limited. Proceeds from the event will support area small businesses and outreach.
Community supporters and organizations funding small businesses, pursuant to its Wisconsin Small Business Funder initiative, also will be recognized during the program. Area businesses, those planning on starting a business, and anyone involved in community and economic development are encouraged to attend.
Anne Hlavacka, director of the UWL SBDC, says the small businesses the center assists play a crucial role in driving the local economy.
“We are fortunate to have increased interest in business startups and growth in our region,” explains Hlavacka. “This event recognizes those in the area who contribute to make business development possible.”
The event is financially supported by Merchants Bank. The Wisconsin Small Business Development Center at UWL and the UWL Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation provide logistical support. For more information, contact UWL’s SBDC at sbdc@uwlax.edu or 608.785.8782.
