The department continued its Centennial Year Celebration Dec. 11 in Cartwright Center with a program recognizing the Adapted Physical Education Teacher Preparation Program. Pictured are four generations of staff and students. Photo center, Lane Goodwin, creator of the program in the 1960s. Front row, third from left, is Faculty Emeritus Patrick DiRocco. Exercise and Sport Science Assistant Professor Manny Felix is pictured front row far right. The Center on Disability Health and Adapted Physical Activity includes campus and community-based programs through the Department of Exercise and Sport Science within the College of Science and Health. Since its inception more than 30 years ago, the center has not only linked with the Coulee Region, but has national ties. The Dec. 11 presentation featured DiRocco and Goodwin who discussed the Adapted Physical Education Program, as well as Professor Emeritus Phil Wilson and Professor John Porcari who highlighted the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program. Clients and students from the current Clinical Exercise Physiology Program concluded the program with a short cardiac dance.
