Two-day residency planned on campus
Chicago-based pianist Mark Valenti will hold a recital and master class open to the public during an upcoming two-day residency at UW-La Crosse.
Valenti will give a recital at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, in Annett Recital Hall in the Center for the Arts, 333 N. 16th St. The 1:10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, master class runs in Annett Recital Hal. Both are freeValenti will also hold master classes with UWL students and area high school students, as well as present a lecture on teaching to the La Crosse Area Music Teachers Association.
Valenti received a master of music from Northwestern University and a bachelor of music from the Philadelphia Musical Academy. He has studied with such notable teachers as Benjamin Whitten, Zoltan Kocsis and Mary Sauer. His 2017 solo recitals have included appearances in Illinois, South Carolina, Kansas, Hawaii, Texas, Virginia, and Maryland, as well as Wisconsin.
