Self Care 101: Setting the Stage for Sustainably Caring for Others

“Self-Care and the Emotional Labor of Librarianship” will be the theme for area librarians when they get together for the 3rd annual C.A.L.L. — Conference About Libraries and Learning.

C.A.L.L. Conference About Libraries and Learning takes place from 9 a.m.–4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, in 3310 Student Union at UW-La Crosse. The conference is a collaboration among UWL Murphy Library, the School District of La Crosse and La Crosse Public Library. Librarians from all types of libraries — school, public, academic, special — are welcome to attend.

This year’s keynote speaker is Sarah Johnson, a mental health director at the La Crosse Area Family YMCA, who is a licensed professional counselor with more than 25 years of experience working in the prevention, youth development, and counseling fields. She will speak on “Self Care 101: Setting the Stage for Sustainably Caring for Others.”
