Alumni share knowledge, experience with current students at the capitol.
As part of a trip down to the state capitol, 40 UWL students gained some insight into their possible futures from people who were in their shoes not too long ago.
The political science and public administration majors met with UWL alumni who are working in and around the capitol. They shared stories at a “speed meeting” session, where students had about three minutes to chat with an alum before moving onto another alum.
That night, the students and alumni came together at a reception on the capitol square. The annual event salutes UWL’s many friends and alumni involved in Wisconsin government and recognizes the university’s role in political science and public administration in the state.
They were also joined by local political figures, including Reps. Jill Billings, Steve Doyle, Lee Nerison and Nancy VanderMeer.
