Career Services’ resources, like Wednesday’s Career Fair, help students succeed after graduation.
When Robin Earleywine, ’15, graduated from UWL last May, she already had her foot in the door at Hawkins Ash CPAs.
The accountancy major found an internship with the company through Eagle Opportunities and hasn’t looked back since. “Everyone here is so helpful,” says Earleywine or her colleagues where she works. “It’s such a good place to learn and I’ve made great relationships with my coworkers.”
It’s a similar path one of the partners at the firm took. “I did my internship here while I was at UWL,” says Greg Kenworthy, ’08. “I liked it, especially the opportunities and I’m very happy with my decision.”
Hawkins Ash CPAs hires UWL graduates every year. They’ll be looking to meet some candidates at Wednesday’s Career Fair in Valhalla, organized by Career Services.
At the Career Fair, there will be about 70 companies looking for students to put their majors to use. “Accountancy is a specific skillset, so I’m glad I didn’t learn that to do something different,” says Earleywine. “Everyone needs an accountant, you just have to figure out what place will be the right fit.”
