The seventh annual Freedom Fest, honoring the nation’s veterans, will welcome the return of a national performing act from the inaugural event, as well as first-timers to the Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex at UW-L. Slated for Saturday, June 14, this year’s event will feature headliners Huey Lewis and the News as well as returning performers Gary Sinise and the LT. Dan Band. Local favorites will also return for the second year in a row: The Remainders, 3 Beers ‘Til Dubuque and Neon. To date, Freedom Fest has raised more than $400,000, including $126,000 for veterans’ scholarships.
