The Winter meeting of the Seven Rivers Chapter of the Fulbright Association will feature “A Fulbright Year in Montenegro.”
Luther College Associate Professor Steve Holland will discuss his year as a Fulbright Scholar in Montenegro at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, in Shirley Baker Commons on the campus in Decorah, Iowa. The program is free and open to all.
Holland, an associate professor of economics and the Dahl Chair in Economics & Business at Luther, was a scholar in Podgorica, Montenegro, for the 2012-13 academic year. He lectured at the University of Donja Gorica and the University of Montenegro. Holland will speak about his experiences living and teaching in Montenegro, and reflect on how his immersion in the history and culture of the Western Balkans has shaped his teaching.
Following the presentation, those attending will hear about the Fulbright Association and the Seven Rivers Chapter, be introduced to alumni of the Fulbright Program, and have an opportunity to informally network. UW-L Health Education and Promotion Professor Bob Jecklin is president of the Seven Rivers chapter.
