Third Congressional District art exhibition opens March 25
The UW-La Crosse University Art Gallery will hang artwork of high school artists from across Wisconsin’s 3rd Congressional District.
Rep. Ron Kind and his wife, Tawni, will host the 23rd annual presentation of the art competition. Each year a call goes out to high schools in the district and work is selected by judges for pieces to for awards and notations of merit. All artwork submitted will be displayed during the exhibition.
The first-place entry will be displayed for a year in the U.S. Capitol, along with the works of other student artists from across the country. The second-place entry will be displayed in Rep. Kind’s Washington, D.C., office, while the third and four place pieces will be displayed in Kind’s La Crosse and Eau Claire offices.
The exhibition opens Monday, March 25, in the gallery, located on the first floor of the UWL Center for the Arts, 333 N. 16th St. The exhibition runs through Sunday, April 14, and will close with a reception for family, friends and the community with Rep. Kind and his wife from 1:30-3 p.m.

Regular gallery hours at noon-8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, noon-5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and by appointment and during events in Toland Theatre. Admission is free.—
