One Day for UWL — 24 hours to make a lasting impact
One Day for UWL, the university’s annual day of giving, is just around the corner.
From 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, to 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, UWL alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends will come together to support nearly 200 areas across campus — all while celebrating the power of philanthropy.
“Not only are we raising funds that will support many of our wonderful departments, programs, teams and student organizations, but also we are coming together as a collective UWL community,” says Lauren Wanders, UWL’s annual giving coordinator and lead organizer of the event. “From students, faculty and staff to lifelong alumni and friends of the university — we are showing up together and celebrating our commitment to the mission of UWL for years to come.”
Whether on campus or connecting to One Day online, there are plenty of ways to get involved. One Day for UWL is a celebration of the transformational impact that giving has on student success — from scholarships and undergraduate research to athletics, student organizations, and academic programs.
Wanders says she’s especially excited for “Ring in One Day,” the high-energy kickoff celebration taking place at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, at Hoeschler Tower.
“The music, the energy and the crowd — it’s such a powerful way to start the day,” she says. “With the UWL Screaming Eagles Marching Band playing, Stryker Eagle dancing, and Chancellor James Beeby addressing the crowd, it really sets the tone for 24 hours of celebration and impact.”
Attendees can also expect free UWL merch, campus spirit and plenty of photo-worthy moments.
