New process for ordering and purchasing print: Seminar planned

The summer brought a number of changes to the process of ordering and purchasing printed materials. Document Services has closed its doors. Print purchasing — previously done by the Publications Office — is now conducted through the Purchasing Office within the Budget and Finance Office. Additionally, the Publications Office has changed its name to Creative Services. The Purchasing Office and Creative Services have scheduled a print purchasing seminar to explain the many recent changes in the print purchasing process. The seminar will clarify when orders are best suited for DigiCOPY, when orders should go through UW-L’s Print Purchasing Agent Gerry Hyzer, as well as when Creative Services can be of assistance. The seminar will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, in 102 Wing Technology Center. Pre-registration is required. Register here. Regional vendor, DigiCOPY, will be printing projects that were previously sent to Document Services — typically, one-color and low quantity copies. Campus departments will place printing orders using DigiCOPY’s online ordering system. Access to that system will be available in early August. To set-up an online ordering account with DigiCOPY or for color projects of 500 or more contact Gerry Hyzer in 125 Graff Main Hall at hyzer.gera@uwlax.edu or 608.785.8503. Creative Services, located in University Communications, 115 Graff Main Hall, is the campus resource for design and publications projects. The Creative Services team plans and develops key institutional publications, such as the Lantern magazine, admissions recruiting pieces as well as various brochures, flyers, logos and postcards. The team also works with numerous departments and offices across campus to aid with publication planning and development. Contacts are Florence Aliesch at aliesch.flor@uwlax.edu or 785.8575 and Sanja Dojcinovic at dojcinov.sanj@uwlax.edu or 785.8499. Campus Kudos artwork.
