Kids’ College and other CEE programs connect area students in grades 4-12 with UW-La Crosse faculty, experts to learn skills for the future
Area 5th and 6th grade students will work alongside UW-La Crosse faculty and other experts to investigate replica human bones, explore the world of electric circuits and use chemistry to create “elephant toothpaste” and other amazing substances during Kids’ College Friday, April 12, at UW-La Crosse.
Co-sponsored by UWL Continuing Education & Extension and the Mississippi Valley Gifted & Talented Network, the event brings area kids a taste of college life. The event is just one way UWL Continuing Education & Extension partners to provide opportunities for area youth to prepare for their future.
This April, UWL Continuing Education & Extension is also co-sponsoring a Science & Math Expo, along with Gundersen Medical Foundation. The campus community is welcome to visit the expo where 300 students in grades 6-8 will present their math and science projects from noon–2 p.m., Tuesday, April 16, in The Bluffs, Student Union. The expo is designed to demonstrate the importance of mathematics and the sciences to middle school students.
Note: Kids’ College attendance is limited to students who attend schools with current Mississippi Valley Gifted and Talented Network memberships and who are approved by their school's Gifted and Talented coordinator. For more information, visit the program website
