Ted Louis Levy shared his knowledge with UW-La Crosse students in a tap dance class[/caption]
A nationally known performer took the lead in a UW-La Crosse dance class on Monday.
Ted Louis Levy shared his tap dance expertise with more than two dozen students of ranging tap dance skill levels.
"It’s such a great experience to learn from someone who obviously has so much experience and it so passionate about tap dancing," says freshman Elle Mark.

Levy has been working in show business for the better part of two decades an has been nominated for Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critic Circle Awards. He won an Emmy Award for his television debut performance in the PBS Special "Precious Memories" and appeared in Spike Lee's film, "Malcolm X". His production of "Ted Levy and Friends" was directed by Gregory Hines and celebrated Ted as one of America's premiere Tap Dance Artists. Ted's relationship with Hines also continued with the film "Bojangles", in which he appeared. Influenced by Hines, Ted's directorial debut came as Director of Savion Glover's "Dancing Under the Stars" at the New York Shakespeare Festival's Delacorte Theatre. He was also an assistant in the choreography hit "Bring in 'Da Noise! Bring in "Da Funk".
