UWL students fare well in archery, bowling, volleyball
La Crosse, Wis. – Three UW-La Crosse sport clubs earned national honors at the end of the spring semester.
National champ in archery
Archery Club had four team members attend outdoor national competition in Dublin, Ohio. Owen McCann and Andrina Savor won the gold medal for Mixed Bowhunter Team. Savor earned 4th nationally for female bowhunter, while McCann earned 6th nationally for male bowhunter. Other Archery Club members qualifying for the event were Samantha Fake and Erich Mueller.

Bowling Club takes 2nd-place nationally
The Bowling Club entered the double elimination bracket last after qualifying. The team knocked off three of the four No. 1 seeds before losing to the final No. 1 seed in the finals, finishing second. “We battled through many tough matches, including some tie-breakers,” says Tyler Frahm, bowling team president. “We bowled the most games out of everyone and were rewarded with our second place finish."

Men’s volleyball team earns 3rd-place finish
The Men's Volleyball Club team earned 3rd place in Division II at the tournament in Denver in late April. Two members were named to the 1st All-Tournament Team: Adam Baltz and Phil Weisbecker.
