Seniors graduating in May 2010 took the Education Testing Service Major Field Test for the Bachelor’s Degree in Business last spring. The test compares students from about 600 business schools across the nation. The results were “very encouraging,” said Bruce May, associate dean of the college. “It shows the college is performing very well, students are well prepared and they are nationally competitive,” he said. This is the first time UW-L business students have taken the test, which consists of 120 multiple choice questions designed to measure a student’s understanding of the common body of business knowledge expected of business school graduates. Students performed well in all knowledge areas. The highest scores were in economics, finance, information systems, international issues and quantitative business analysis.
