UW-L Chancellor Joe Gow presented UW-L student Amanda DeCora with UW-L's Student Worker of the Year Award on April 15.


Amanda DeCora's co-workers presented her with cake and flowers to celebrate her receipt of UW-L's Student Worker of the Year Award.[/caption] Nominated by her supervisors in the Office of Records and Registration, DeCora quickly moved from filing and sorting paperwork to working at the front desk of the office. Her supervisor noted her professionalism and positive attitude makes her a joy to work with. As a single mother and full-time student, DeCora has nothing but positive words for her co-workers, describing them as genuinely concerned about students and great to talk to. As a non-traditional student returning to school after working for 15 years, DeCora cites job basics as one reason she excels. “I know how important it is to show up on time and be ready to work.”
