Minnesota artist brings unique painting style to campus
UWL students will have an opportunity to work with a Midwestern artist who brings a unique twist to her work. Artist Annie Hejny creates abstract paintings with honorably-harvested water and sediment from her home state of Minnesota.
Hejny’s paintings are currently hung at the Minnesota Marine Art Museum in Winona. Her reflective, hands-on workshop includes instruction in Annie’s unique process, with each student creating an individual 12" x 12" painting.
The “Painting Workshop with Annie Hejny” runs from 9:30 a.m.-noon Friday, Oct. 12, in 119 Center for the Arts. It is open to students currently enrolled in painting, with space available for others on a first-come, first-served basis. To participate, reserve a spot by emailing Jennifer Williams at jwilliams@uwlax.edu. All are welcome to visit and observe.
The workshop is made possible from funding through the Department of Art and College of Liberal Studies.
