Expect traffic congestion during WIAA State Track and Field Meet
The WIAA State Track Meet runs Friday and Saturday, June 3 and 4, at UW-La Crosse. Expect extensive delays and congestion on La Crosse Street and Highway 16 from Interstate 90 to the university. Take alternative routes if possible.
“Take your time and be patient,” advises UWL Police Chief Scott McCollough. “Don’t get angry, watch for pedestrians and please stay off of your phone.”
There will be three entry points for vehicles to campus: East Avenue at La Crosse Street, Pine Street at Campbell Road, and the La Crosse Street entrance to the Recreational Eagle Center. All other streets and alleys will be blocked.
High school athletes and coaches will start arriving around 3 p.m. Thursday, June 2, while traffic direction and control will start at 6 a.m. Friday and Saturday. MTU buses will not run on campus and some high school buses will park on Badger Street.
Parking on campus will be $8 per day.
