A reception in honor of Professor Víctor M. Macías González, History, will be held from 3:30-5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10, in the Cameron Hall of Nations, Centennial Hall. A program begins at 4 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
The UW-L history professor received the Wisconsin Professor of the Year Award Nov. 14 in Washington, D.C.
The award, sponsored by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, is part of the U.S. Professor of the Year Program, which salutes the most outstanding undergraduate instructors in the country.
Macías-González is the second UW-L professor to receive the honor. History Professor Greg Wegner earned the recognition in 2011.
