The Wisconsin Regional Arts Program (WRAP) will hold its Spring 2016 Art Exhibit at UW-La Crosse.
Non-professional artists from the region 14 years and older may apply to show their work and drop off their pieces from
1-6 p.m. Saturday, May 14, in the University Art Gallery, Center for the Arts, 16
th and Vine streets. Entry forms are due
Wednesday, May 11, by contacting
artist_studio@hotmail.com. The $30 entry fee for up to three works is due at the drop-off. All artwork will be judged for state awards, honorable mentions and a $100 cash award for best-in-show. The winning state award piece can be entered in the state competition.
The exhibit of the winning works runs in the University Art Gallery, free of charge, from
3-6 p.m. Monday, May 16, through Friday, May 20.
The juror for the show Kathie Wheeler is a member of Oil Painters of America and the American Women Artist, the American Impressionist Society, and the Palette and Chisel in Chicago. She creates landscapes and portraits, working with oils, pastels and watercolors.

Saturday, May 21, the exhibit is open from
1-9 p.m. Bob Witte, WRAP Best in Show Award Winner in 2014 and 2015, will hold a hands-on workshop, “Beginning Approaches to Painting Faces in Watercolor,” from
1-6 p.m. in 119 Center for the Arts. The workshop is $10 and is open to those exhibiting in the WRAP show.
A reception and awards ceremony with Wheeler runs in the gallery from
7-8 p.m. Saturday, May 21. Artists may pick up their work between 8-9 p.m.
Along with UWL, the sponsors for the show include Eastbank Artists Inc., Mississippi River Artists Association, La Crosse Camera Club, UW-Madison Continuing Studies and the Wisconsin Regional Arts Association.
