Children’s play adapted from classic series by UWL students to be performed on campus.
Fredrick Theatre is being transformed into a second grade classroom.
The UWL Theatre Department is putting on Horrible Harry in Room 2B, an adaptation of the popular book series by Suzy Kline. UWL students in a Creating Children’s Theatre Class adapted the books into the show that will run in UWL’s smaller theater.
“I’m ecstatic,” says Sophia Goodner, the assistant director for the show who also adapted the play. “I’m without words how cool this is.”
Horrible Harry in Room 2B will run at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday, April 9, in Frederick Theatre, Morris Hall. Tickets go on sale Monday, April 4. Call the box office at 608.785.8522.
“There’s a lot of points in the play where we get crazy and the kids will have fun and will laugh,” says Devin Vogel, a UWL freshman who’s playing Harry.
The play was adapted by the UWL Creating Children's Theatre Class: Callie Boydston, Erin Gassner, Lauren Gingold, Sophia Goodner, Katie Katschke, Maddie Napolski, Derek Sveen, Bryce Wilson, Sarah Wolf and Lewis Youngren.
