Student reflects on week featuring UW-L on Twitter

Posted 2:19 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2013

UW-L student reflects on her experience tweeting about life at UW-L.

Twitter bird. Editor's note: Twitter users worldwide got an inside view of life at UW-L for the week of March 11, thanks to UW-L Senior Melissa Moss. She took over the UW System “@UWpowersMe” Twitter* account to represent the campus in an ongoing Knowledge Powers Wisconsin social media campaign. The @UWpowersMe Twitter account allows students, faculty, alumni — even chancellors — an opportunity to take control for one week, telling their UW story as only they can.  Here's what Moss says about the experience:
[caption id="attachment_21345" align="alignright" width="210" caption="Melissa Moss"]Melissa Moss photo.[/caption] Throughout the last seven days tweeting on behalf of UW-La Crosse, I've been overcome by how blessed all students are by the wonderful opportunities granted to us by being UW-L students. With so many academic, athletic, diversity, music and artistic experiences offered by UW-L, there is no excuse for any of us to leave without experiencing something we love.
Another thing I've discovered is the commitment professors have to encourage and support their students  — going above and beyond to make sure they are doing quality work and getting the most they can out of their college experience. Though I probably did not cover every event on campus this past week, being offered this experience has allowed to me to understand the perspectives of other students and come to appreciate the many talents and skills of my fellow students. Thanks to everyone who helped make this week a success!
