Posted 4:49 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2011

Teeter-totter and raise money for AIDS research April 15.

Students teeter-tottering. UW-L students will raise money for AIDS research by riding on teeter-totters Friday, April 15, on Drake Field. The goal is to have a continuous stream of people teetering from noon to midnight during the 17th annual Teeter-Totter-A-Thon. “It’s kind of a thrill,” says Lisa Raetzman, a UW-L junior. “It’s something different so it really creates attention.” Gamma Sigma Sigma, a UW-L service organization; and Delta Sigma Phi fraternity are organizing the event with the goal of raising $1,000 for the AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin (ARCW). Last year students raised $750 for ARCW. The public is welcome to participate in teetering for a $1 fee. The event will also include games and tie-dyeing T-shirts. Raffle tickets will be on sale.
