This summer's alumni magazine kicked off the publication's new name and the alumni association's new marketing efforts. The publication is now called the Lantern and takes on the look of the association's updated lantern logo.
The lantern has been a symbol for UW-L alumni for more than 80 years. In 1931, English Professor O.O. White declared during the hanging of a lantern on Main Hall: "We'll have the lantern in the old college tower over the south door. You wont' need a key, the door will be open."
The summer issue was sent to association members and UW-L Foundation donors in August. An online version is available at: http://www.uwlax.edu/files/lanternmagazine.html.
The magazine is published by the University Communications Office in conjunction with the Alumni Office.
