Tool making, spear throwing and learning the delicate art of excavation are just a few of the activities teachers from around the U.S. will be doing July 14 - Aug. 1, at UW-L.

The Mississippi Valley Archaeology Center is offering its fifth NEH Summer Institute for Teachers July 14 – Aug. 1.
Twenty-five teachers from around the U.S. will spend three weeks on campus learning about the process of archaeology and the area’s pre-European cultures. The teachers, from 18 states, teach elementary through high school levels in a variety of subject areas including: social studies, history, geography, chemistry, earth science, physics, biology, engineering, math, language arts and art.
