Alumni & Friends Travel Program offering trips to Rome, Greece in 2024
Any vacation is nice, but a vacation with a pre-planned itinerary is the best.
UWL Alumni & Friends Foundation Travel Program provides exactly that. Plus, airfare, lodging, a professional tour director and several meals are all included when signing up for a trip.
In October, a small group of alumni traveled to Iceland. Among the group was Elizabeth Kington, '84, political science/public administration.
Iceland is the first destination Kington has traveled to with the Foundation, and it did not disappoint. She thought the Iceland trip was wonderful, from the breathtaking sights to the hotel accommodations.
“Our tour guide, Sophia, was informative and very helpful! We had a fun group of people on our tour bus, all ages and from all over the country,” Kington says. “It was nice to have everything set up. We packed a lot of sights to see in a short amount of time.”
Two trips are on-deck for 2024. Alumni and friends are invited to travel to Rome and the Amalfi Coast (April 13-22) and Greece and its Islands (Oct. 3-18).
The Rome trip includes a tour covering some of the city’s most prominent landmarks (the Trevi Foundation, the Pantheon and Piazza Navona), a trip to the Vatican Museums and St. Peter’s Basilica, and five nights along the iconic Amalfi Coast.
The Greece trip includes touring the capital city of Athens before traveling to famous islands, including Mykonos and Santorini. Enjoy local wine and traditional Mediterranean cuisine while discovering the beauty of Greece's landscapes, ranging from quaint ski towns to mesmerizing volcanic cliffs.
On both trips, guests will have the chance to create their own dream vacation by choosing from various sites and activities.
