Artwork from high school students in Wisconsin’s Third Congressional District will again be exhibited at UW-L.

Artwork from high school students in Wisconsin’s Third Congressional District will again be exhibited at UW-L. Rep. Ron Kind has put a call out for students in his district to submit two-dimensional work for his annual competition. Jurors select work for the exhibition and choose works of particular merit. Four pieces from the exhibition are chosen for further recognition with the first place entry being included in a year-long exhibition in the capitol in Washington, D.C. The second place entry will be exhibited in Congressman Kind’s D.C. office, with the third and fourth place entries being exhibited in the local offices of the third congressional district. The Wisconsin Third Congressional District High School Art Exhibition will run Wednesday, April 9, through Friday, April 11, in the University Art Gallery, located in the university’s Center for the Arts, 16th and Vine streets. Kind and his wife, Tawni, will hold a reception for the student artists, families and the community from 5-6:30 p.m. Friday, April 11, in the gallery. Special gallery hours run from noon-8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, and from noon-7 p.m. Friday. Admission is free. For more information, visit Kind’s website.
