Zach Scola in the Rec Sports Department earned the 2014-15 honor as the standout student employee.
It wasn’t an easy decision for the staff of UW-L’s Rec Sports Department to pick just one of their 75 employees to nominate for the Student Employee of the Year Award.
“All of them are very committed and engaged in everything they do as a staff members,” says Mo McAlpine, Associate Director of Rec Sports, “but Zach Scola I think is really the epitome of that."
“Truly, I have not witnessed such commitment in my 24 years of supervision,” says McAlpine.
Zach will graduate this May with a degree in sports management. He is moving on to graduate school in Kansas to pursue sports management.
“I’d love to work in facility or event management,” says Zach. “I enjoy sports. I enjoy events. I love it.”
Six other students were nominated for the award:
Amanda De Cora, Records & Registration
Joshua Gran, It Make$ Cents! Money Management Center
Sasha Jascor, Microbiology Department
Kristin Kotzer, Office of Residence Life
Sammy Xiong-Vue, Women’s Gender, and Sexuality Studies Department
Hanqing Wu, University Communications
