The UW-La Crosse Summer Band will hold its first concert of the summer. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 5, on the lawn behind the Center for the Arts on campus.
The ensemble, along with community musicians, will perform a program of varied band music from Broadway to Sousa. The Chamber Players is directed by Assistant Professor of Music Thomas Seddon.
The selections include: “Overture to Candide” by Bernstein Toccata; “Marziale” by Vaughan Williams; “Shenandoah” by Ticheli; “Pineapple Poll” by Sullivan; “Thunder and Lightning” by Strauss; “Children's March” by Grainger; “Sandpaper Ballet” by Anderson; “Early Light” by Bremer; and “Stars and Stripes Forever” by Sousa.
Admission is free. Bring a lawn chair or blanket, no seating will be provided.
