UW-La Crosse students to showcase regional musicians at fundraiser

Madison musician Sam Lyons is one of the musicians performing in the fundraiser concert for RAQ Radio Friday, March 7, at La Crosse’s Cavalier Theater.

Five groups will perform, each with a different genre, at the Cavalier Theater, 118 5th Ave. N., La Crosse. The musicians from throughout the Midwest include: Wazzy and James, Elsa Va, Ben Ziebarth, Sam Lyons and Battletoads (representing Weird Ass Kids). General admission is $3, with proceeds supporting RAQ Radio. There will also be a raffle featuring prizes donated by local businesses. Funds will go toward the station’s growth and general upkeep. Planners also hope the fundraiser allows RAQ Radio to showcase the station and show the community offers great programming. Listeners can tune into RAQ Radio from 3-11 p.m. Mondays-Fridays at www.raqradio.com. The station airs a diverse array of programming that includes music, news, sports, special interests and more.
