Chuck Moore, 1981 graduate in management, has been named Maple Leaf Parade Marshal, and Mark Terpstra, husband of UWL Art Professor Jennifer Terpstra, has been named Torchlight Parade Marshal.
Last year’s marshals were Mike Desmond, ’76 & ’87, and Scott Milhalovic, ’82. See: http://news.uwlax.edu/parade-marshals-are-uw-l-alums.
Moore and his wife, Sue, own and operate Ad Aids in La Crosse. They have been involved in the community, as well as with Oktoberfest as grenadiers. “It’s a terrific honor; it really is,” says Moore of his selection.

The marshal for the Torchlight Parade, which winds through the city’s north side, is bestowed upon a resident of La Crosse’s north side or someone who has greatly impacted the north side community. The Maple Leaf Parade Marshal is given to a person who been involved in the La Crosse community.
The Torchlight Parade kicks off at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, while the Maple Leaf Parade is set for 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3. Both marshals were announced at a reception on the Oktoberfest grounds Sept. 23. See the parade routes and more about the fest at: http://oktoberfestusa.com/
