Alumni, faculty, staff and community support students through campaign.

UW-La Crosse faculty, staff, alumni and the wider La Crosse community have stepped up to contribute more than $30,000 to students in need during these challenging and uncertain times. Funds have supported 45 students with rent, utilities, food, living expenses and medical bills.

Anyone interested in continuing to support students who have lost their jobs or are facing other unexpected financial hardships can contribute to the UWL Cares Campaign on the UWL Foundation website. It takes many coming together to ensure this pandemic will not prolong students’ progress toward their degrees, careers, hopes and dreams.

Students in need of food, living expenses or other emergency resources can find a variety of campus and community resources on the emergency resources website.

Funds distributed through this UWL Foundation Cares Campaign are one way students are being supported. In addition, UWL received nearly $3.4 million in Cares Act funding from the US Department of Education to provide as emergency financial aid grants to students. UWL has distributed more than $3.1 million of that funding thus far.
