Program helps students plan business, turn it into a reality
Students: Do you have the vision and focus of an eagle when it comes to taking a business concept to reality? Is entrepreneurship for you? Want to take part in a Shark-Tank kind of experience?
Students can work as part of a team or go solo as they explore business ideas and take steps to build a business plan in the UWL Innovation Lab.
Students can explore the exciting and challenging world of entrepreneurship, using a combination of instruction, innovation labs, field studies and mentors. As a participant in the UWL Innovation Lab, they will showcase business ideas to a panel of judges at the final Eagle’s Eye Competition Thursday, April 6. The top three ventures will win valuable prizes, including cash and donated products and services to help turn their business plan into a reality.
Other opportunities to explore funding for ideas and other competitions will be identified. All students completing the UWL Innovation Lab business accelerator program will receive an Entrepreneurship Certificate.
Preparation sessions take place from 5-8 p.m. on eight Sundays, Jan. 22-April 2 (no sessions during Spring Break). Students wanting to participate must apply by Thursday, Dec. 15.
Based on the number of applicants, program participation may be limited. Selection will be based on information provided in the application.
Selected applicants will be notified and final program details will be provided by Jan. 6, 2017. Program details and online registration are available at www.uwlax.edu/cei/entrepreneurship
