The UW-La Crosse Department of Theatre Arts will present an encore performance of "The Theory of Relativity" to raise theatre student scholarships. The new musical adapts the true stories of 13 young adults as they float in and out of relationships, navigate friendships, and struggle to find acceptance on the rocky path to adulthood.
With music and lyrics by Neil Bartram and book by Brian Hill, "The Theory of Relativity" will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, and a matinee performance at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, in Toland Theatre in the Center for the Arts, 333 N. 16th St.
Critics call "The Theory of Relativity" a joyous and moving look about our surprisingly interconnected lives. Through a seemingly unrelated collection of songs, scenes and monologues, the play introduces a compelling array of characters experiencing the joys and heartbreaks, the liaisons and losses, the inevitability and the wonder of human connection.
Tickets go on sale at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5. Box office hours are 1-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and one hour before show times. Tickets may also be purchased online at www.uwlax.edu/theatre-arts beginning Sept. 5. Tickets are $15 for UWL students, $20 for senior citizens and other students, and $25 for others.
