CS & CPE Distinguished Lecture Series: Russ Salakhutdinov

Join us for the Distinguished Lecture Series on Thursday, October 30, at the Cleary Alumni & Friends Center, University of Wisconsin–La Crosse. The event begins at 10:30 a.m. with registration followed by a symposium at 11 a.m., where Russ Salakhutdinov, VP of Research at Meta and leading expert in deep learning and generative AI, will present Building Embodied Autonomous Agents. His talk will explore modular agents that learn through self-supervised embodied active learning, perform natural language-guided navigation, and leverage 3D semantic maps for exploration and planning. At 5 p.m., Salakhutdinov will deliver the keynote address, Towards Internet-Scale Training for Multimodal AI Agents, showcasing advancements in language-guided AI systems capable of perception, reasoning, and web-based task execution at scale. This event is sponsored by the UWL CS/CPE Department and co-sponsored by the UW–La Crosse Alumni & Friends Foundation. These events are open to the public.
