Gazing On The Self And Beyond: Rethinking Transitional Migration, Southeast Asian Village Life and Global Identity

Dr. Vincent Her of the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse has recently returned from a conference and research trip to Southeast Asia. In this revealing talk, filled with images from his Southeast Asian trip, Dr. Her will blend multi-sited research and personal history to reflect on the experiences of transnational migration, the impact of tourism on village life in Thailand and the need to question concepts such as global citizenship and global identity when national borders remain seemingly impermeable.
