The Poems of Joy Harjo

A Pre-Visit Celebration!

Join us to learn about, read, and discuss United States Poet Laureate Joy Harjo's poetry before her much-anticipated public reading at UWL. A member of the Muscogee/Creek Nation, Harjo is the United States’ first Native American Poet Laureate. English Department instructors will facilitate conversation about three of her poems, “Remember,” “Speaking Tree,” and “This Morning I Pray for My Enemies.”

All poems are available at https://poets.org/poet/joy-harjo#poet__works, but no preparation is necessary!
