Please join us on Saturday, December 10th to support the UWL Men's Basketball Program and honor the legacy of Rollo Taylor: Educator, Mentor, Coach, and Friend.
Coach Taylor passed away in 2013 but continues to have a profound impact at UWL and in the surrounding community. Taylor, a UWL alumni turned faculty, was the freshman men's basketball coach from 1965-1992. Every year, Rollo and his wife Kay would host the team for a spaghetti dinner for an end-of-season wrap party. This will be the model for a legacy celebration on Dec. 10 - where former players, assistant coaches, students, UWL colleagues, family and friends will come together to remember and honor the legacy of Coach Rollo Taylor.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Rollo Taylor Endowment Fund which will support the UWL Men's Basketball program. The Rollo Taylor Endowment for Men’s Basketball was announced on Nov 1, 2019 with a $10,000 lead gift from Kay Taylor. The Endowment was established to provide financial support in perpetuity to the Men’s Basketball program in the areas of Coaching Excellence, Recruiting and Team Travel. Thanks to other gifts from the Taylor family as well as from former players, students and friends, the Endowment has grown to over $55,000. The goal is to continue to grow this Endowment to provide important support to the program that was so important to Rollo Taylor and many others.
