Community of Practice: Artificial Intelligence

Spring 2023 Meetings

AI technology is developing so rapidly it can be difficult for instructors to know how to respond. The good news is that we don't have to work alone. CATL invites instructors from across campus to join the new Artificial Intelligence Community of Practice (AI-CoP). In a collaborative atmosphere, we seek to keep up to date with AI developments, assess their impacts on teaching and learning, collect emerging best practices, and devise strategies for the classes we teach. Whether you are looking for ways to detect the use of AI in student work, make your assignments more AI-proof, or integrate AI into your classes, please join the conversation.

Our initial meeting date will be Monday, February 27 from 1:10-2:05 pm, with further meetings to follow. Participants will play an active role in shaping meeting agendas and goals.

The second meeting will be on Monday, April 3 from 1:10-2:05pm. The topic for this meeting is: "What do we gain and lose with AI in the classroom?"

To express interest, complete this short form.
