NALCAP Info Session

Spend a year in Spain as a language and culture assistant!

Can you see yourself spending a year in Spain teaching English? Can you speak Spanish at an intermediate level?

If you answered yes to both of those questions, then NALCAP and this info session is for you!!!

The Language Resource Center (located in 321 Graff Main Hall) will host Carlos Berrozpe Peralta, an Education Advisor at the Embassy of Spain in Chicago, who will present an overview of the NALCAP program for prospective applicants and answer any questions you may have.

NALCAP, the North American Language and Culture Assistants Program, is currently accepting applications (until April 4, 2023) for language assistants to spend the next school year in Spain. NALCAP is sponsored by the Ministry of Education of Spain through the Embassy in the US and Canada, and the program offers the opportunity to spend one school year placed in a K-12 school where you would fulfill the role of cultural ambassador, enriching language learning and mutual understanding through cultural exchange.

NALCAP offers participants:

  • placements all across Spain
  • 8 months in Spain (October 1 - May 31)
  • teaching 14 to 16 hours per week
  • an 800 to 1,000 euro monthly allowance
  • medical insurance
  • professional and personal growth
  • linguistic and cultural immersion
  • improved Spanish skills
  • global connections
