Senior Art Major Exhibition

ArtsFest 2025 Signature Event

The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Art Gallery will be featuring the art of graduating art majors in the final exhibition of the academic year. The exhibition, titled Exit Strategies, opens on Friday April 25 with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. A signature event for ArtsFest 2025. Free and open to the public.

Exit Strategies is a glimpse into the minds and hearts of a graduating class of emerging artists, each navigating their own path toward identity, expression, and transformation. Under the guidance of Assistant Professor Joshua Doster in their capstone course as well as faculty in each student’s specific area, these senior art majors have spent the semester building a capstone collection that serves as both a culmination and a launching point.

As visitors walk through the UWL Art Gallery in the Truman T. Lowe Center for the Arts, they’ll encounter a range of artistic media—from ceramics to digital design to metalsmithing—but more profoundly, they’ll meet the stories behind each piece. These stories, often deeply personal, are at the heart of Exit Strategies

Community members are invited to meet the artists for a discussion about their work during four artist talks in the UWL Art Gallery. These sessions take place from noon until 12:45. Session 1 on Monday April 28 features Emma Sebranek, Evelyn Van Ess, Jayda LaFleur; Session 2 on Wednesday April 30 features by Alyse Egan, Lynzeekay Fox, Addison Wallenkamp; Session 3 on Monday May 5 includes features Nicholas Bilyeu, Ellie Burns, Austin Anderson; and session 4 on Wednesday May 7 features Sririwong Vang, Olivia Otto, and Alexa Fryjoff.

The exhibition opening and reception also serve as the second signature event for UWL’s annual ArtsFest weekend celebration. Exit Strategies runs April 25 through May 17 at the UWL Art Gallery in the Lowe Center for the Arts. Admission to all gallery events is free and open to the public.
