Crazy Money

In 2017, all 150 residents of Busibi, Uganda received a fixed monthly allowance, to spend as they saw fit. "This unique film shows how ‘unconditional cash’ (‘crazy money’ in the professional jargon) makes an entire village flourish." In a Bantu language, with English subtitles. Faculty discussants: Dr. Elizabeth Crosby (MKT) and Dr. Israt Jahan (ECO).

This is the first of three films in the UWL Spring 2024 Ethnographic Film Series, "Global Forces, Locally Lived." Screening rights courtesy of the College of Business Administration. Free and open to the public. Free popcorn for all attendees!
