Using whole-ecosystem experiments to manage and protect lakes

Dr. Grace Wilkinson, UW-Madison

Dr. Grace Wilkinson is an Associate Professor of Limnology at UW-Madison. She will share information regarding whole-lake experiments - powerful tools for testing hypotheses about ecosystem function. This approach was also developed right here in Wisconsin! Her experiments relate to biodiversity, algal blooms, climate change, and introduced species. They provide critical management and policy insights for how we can keep Wisconsin's lakes healthy.

This talk will connect to environmental science, mathematics & statistics, biology, geography, chemistry, microbiology, environmental studies, political science and public administration, recreation management, and public health and community health education.
