Community of Practice: Universal Design for Learning (UDL)

Spring 2025 Dates

CATL is launching a new Community of Practice (CoP) focused on Universal Design for Learning (UDL). This CoP is designed to foster dialogue and mutual learning among instructors who want to create more accessible and engaging learning environments. The primary goal is to explore how UDL principles can enhance teaching practices and improve student outcomes by making learning more flexible, effective, and applicable to all students.

This community will serve as a valuable resource for instructors at all career stages, particularly those looking to integrate more student-centered teaching strategies. It will provide a platform for instructors to exchange ideas, share challenges, and develop practical solutions that can be implemented in their classrooms.

Potential Topics Include:

  • Applying UDL principles to course design and assessments
  • Strategies for providing multiple means of engagement, representation, and expression
  • Enhancing accessibility and flexibility in course materials
  • Supporting learners with various backgrounds and needs
  • Utilizing technology and assistive tools to foster an adaptable learning environment
  • Encouraging active learning and student choice to increase motivation and participation

Apply today and be added to the calendar invitation.
