The University of Wisconsin–La Crosse will welcome nearly 600 high school musicians to campus for the 13th Annual High School Band Day on Saturday, October 25, during the UW-La Crosse vs. UW–Oshkosh football game at Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex. The event runs from 1 to 3 p.m. and features a combined halftime performance with the UWL Screaming Eagles Marching Band under the direction of Dr. Tammy Fisher.

Participating students from 14 Wisconsin high schools will join the Screaming Eagles on the field to experience the energy and excitement of collegiate marching band life. Schools represented include Lincoln (Alma Center), Brookwood, Holmen, Mauston, New Auburn, Altoona, Tomah, Bangor, West Salem, Central, Aquinas, Onalaska, Logan, and Wauwatosa East High Schools.

“This event is one of the highlights of our marching season,” says Dr. Tammy Fisher, Director of the Screaming Eagles Marching Band. “It’s an incredible opportunity for high school students to make music together, connect with college performers, and feel what it’s like to be part of a large, spirited university band.”

The UWL Screaming Eagles Marching Band is known for its vibrant halftime shows, musicianship, and school spirit. High School Band Day brings together young musicians from across the state to share in that tradition and celebrate the power of live performance.
