Writing in the Midwest

A Conversation and Reading with Latin American Poets

The Department of Global Cultures & Languages invites you to a conversation and poetry reading with Latin American poets who live and write in the Midwest area: Ae Hee Lee (South Korea-Peru) from Milwaukee, WI; Marcelo Pellegrini (Valparaiso, Chile) from Madison, WI; and Ollín Garcia Pliego (Mexico City, Mexico) from Bloomington, Indiana.

We will discuss their origins, their poetry interests and influences, and their experience as writers living in the area. There will be a Q&A and a poetry reading from our special guests. The conversation will be in English, and the poetry reading will be in Spanish and English. The event will be moderated by Dr. Gabriel Antunez De Mayolo Kou.

The event is free and open to the public.
